Malta is a Southern European island nation in the Mediterranean, off the coast of Sicily (Italy) and close to Tunisia and Libya. The small country is home to a population of roughly 440,000 people. This country covers 317 km² but has one of the most densely populated countries of the world behind Monaco, Singapore or Hong Kong. The capital city of Malta is Valletta.

The Republic of Malta, officially known so, is an island country situated in the south of Europe which contains a group of islands in the Mediterranean Sea. Malta is the tenth smallest and fifth most densely populated country in the world. Valletta is the capital, which is the European Union’s smallest national capital.

It is stated to be an advanced economy in Malta. The economy of Malta relies on foreign trade, manufacturing, tourism and film production. More prominently, it has Bank of Valetta, HSBC Bank Malta and Central Bank of Malta.

Malta belonged to the British empire from 1814 from 1964. During that time, the British imposed the use of English as an official language. Maltese and English are widely spoken throughout the country, thus being the official languages of Malta. Maltese is considered to be the officially recognised national language. And it still is, alongside Maltese: Roughly 90% of the population speaks English, and Malta is a popular destination for students seeking English language courses. While the more touristy areas of Malta do attract pickpockets and scammers (just like every tourist destination on earth), Malta is largely crime-free and is known as being one of the safest destinations in all of Europe.

It has some 11,500 students including over 600 international students from 71 different countries, following full-time or part-time degree and diploma courses. More than 3,000 students graduate in various disciplines annually. There is no stay back option for International Students.
